Can't not change the SA password

We are needing to change the account that SMS uses for accessing the SQL database. The problem we are having is:

When you go to the properties of the site and change it still uses the old password.

When we run the setup to run the "Modify or reset the current installation" it is grayed out and only remove and upgrade is availbe.

This is the same disk that we installed it from and we are running SMS2.0. I just don't know where to turn, every time I change the password in SQL server Enterprise Manager we are unable to connect.

Any help would be great.

Where you able to recover from this? I changed our sa password and now i'm unable to connect to the admin console no matter what.

It was determined that we had done a quick install and that we would not be able to change the password. This was info given to me on another board and we ended up rebuilding the SMS Server.
