Hi,

We've just upgraded our SQL from ver 7 to SQL 2005 and all data/databases/stored procs etc. etc. have migrated over fine. I need to make some minor amends to a couple of the stored procedures but every time I modify them and try to save them, I get prompted to save them into a folder called "Projects". When I do this, the original stored proc still shows but without the amends I have made to it.

I'm obviously missing something here so I'd be most grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction as to how I simply open, amend and save any existing stored procs!

Many thanks.

Manny,
How are you trying to modify them? Are you using a query window from SSMS?

Thanks Dennis but it didn't seem to do anything other than refresh? I can get into the stored procs and make the amends but I can't get them to just save over themselves, I'm always asked to save as a new sql script or as the original but in a different location.

Hi Paul - yes, I'm using a query window from SSMS.

Thanks guys...

Right click on the sp. Select Script Stored Procedure as -> Alter to new window. Make you changes and click on the Esecute button.

Denis, Paul

I have a question...if by any chance he doesn't have rights to write to the syscomments table, could this be stopping him from updating his sp?
