Problem:

I can not connect with a shared (mapped) drive while I am connected through my vpn. I can while on my network. This issue is the same for all my users.

I can not view the shared resources of the server. When I enter \\serverSBS I get an error that Windows could not find \\.... If I ping serverSBS I get a response.

I can access other shared resources from other servers.

Situation:
SBS 2003Standard
DC
DNS
SharePoint 3.0
Exchange 2003

Cisco ASA 5505

Server 2
Windows 2003 Standard
DNS
Was the old DC
Printers

Thanks,

BJ

You may try the IP address instead of the Netbios name:
\\SBS's_IP_here

Hope This Helps, PH.

Even will the IP, I can not connect.

After some further testing, my internal computers resolve serverSBS to 10.0.0.210. Through the vpn it resolves to 10.0.0.215. Both are on the on the server. 10 is internal and 15 external.

I can not get it to allow a connect to 10.0.0.210. I have tried to disable the firewall but CEICW keeps giving me an error.

Is there another way to disable the firewall? Or do you have any suggestions on a way around this?
