Just rebuild SBS 2003 Server and am trying to get users up and going again after a major crash. (SERVER 1 DC using AD) All users seem to work in that I can sucessfully login.

I have shares on D data drive on (SERVER 2 File Server Windows 2003) That I am mapping in SBS_LOGIN_SCRIPT.bat.

When I login on a client machine as the Domain Admin the login script works and sucessfully maps drives for shares on SERVER 2 just fine. HOWEVER, when I login as the user on the same machine the login returns the following error message:

"There are currently no longer servers available to service the login request"

I also can not browse SERVER 2 as the user but I can as the Domain Admin. The user can browse the DC SERVER 1 ok.

I AM PULLING MY HAIR OUT! I would appreciate some help with this. We have been down for days I have been here all weekend and the staff will be back in the early moring!!!!
YIKES!!!

Thanks

Did you rejoin your SERVER 2 to the new domain? Check dns for errors.

PS: Don't pull your hair out, you'll probably miss it in your later years :)

This is a dumb question, but do you have the shared, mapped drives set up to...err...share? What about their permissions? Can you temporarily give a user Admin permissions and check for access?

Any luck using Sharepoint to share the drives?

Check the NTFS-level permissions on your data server. You'd need to do more than just provide the Share-level permissions.

But chances are this is actually an issue with either the workstations or the data server not actually being properly joined to the domain.

I'm guessing that the admin login works because the password for that account on the domain is identical to the password used for the local admin account on the data server. If you changed the admin password for the domain, you'd probably have more issues.
