I have a windows 2003 server which acts as a file/print server. I installed SP2 over the weekend and now I cannot map any drives or print to any printers.
I have one (out of 80 to 90) XP box that is unable to map a network drive, or connect to a network printer. Happened after a power outage, not aware of any servers being upgraded to SP2.
Lucky for me, it's a programer and he is (mostly)responsibile for his own box.
If I hear of a fix, besides a clean wipe, I will post. Please, if any one else knows of a fix, chime in.
The problem (I think) turned out to be something to do with the Remote Access service. Some service was starting properly (can't recall which one) as the RAS was conflicting with it after SP2 was installed.
I remove the RAS role and installed a few more windows updates. after a reboot everything worked fine.
