Hi,

I cant map a drive over PPTP VPN to Windows 2000 server - I have a working lmhosts file, I know this is working because I can ping the server by both IP address and Netbios name. I have an outlook client which can connect over the vpn to the server and I can view the mail box so I know name resolution is taking place. But I cant map a drive?

File and Printer sharing is enabled on the clients VPN connection.

The server has all service packs installed.

Please can anyone help?

I have a successful VPN tunnel established using PPTP across it with either Win2K or XP. It sounds like your almost there but a setting is blocking you. Hard to help you since you didn't give much detail on how your setup. Read this doc first, then reply if all your settings look good and it still doesn't work.

Here is a link that should get you started and help you re-check your configuration. I know it is not related to the products you are using, but it gives you a different perspective to see if you missed something.

I have been through the setup and the VPN connection is setup correctly. This looks like a server issue not allowing the drive to be mapped.

The VPN is fine and I can ping the network and connect to an exchange server.

Any help?
