Hi all,
I have 2600 series router.I am learning for CCNA on myself. To be frank i dont know anything about routers.I feel stupid now.I logged into the enable mode and ran the setup command and dont know what i did.now i cant telnet and login.I was connected to the internet through the router.even ping fails to the ethernet interface.
How do i delete the config file? or else can i revert back to the old config file? should i connect to the console port and try something.
Please help.

Hi Nanaya,

I'm no expert either.

If you can't ping it, you should try going in on the console port. Connect it to your PC via a COM port, and open a session with Hyperterminal.

If you know the passwords, fine. Otherwise, you might need to mess around with the config register to bypass them.

Anyway, connect up via the console, and tell us how you get on.

Thanks.

Hi,
I couldnt login to enable mode through a console port.I had to mess with the config register.
