I have a Definty G3R R9.5 System that is High-Reliability. For some reason this system limits the number of active logins that I have to 5. This includes the SAT terminal, INADS connection and other users logging in via CLAN SAT. The login itself is not the issue because there are multiple unique logins being used. The error message is "No Port Avaliable".
I can view the active logins by using the Stat Login command.
Anyone know why it is limiting me?

When you run 'stat logins', how many active logins show up? There may be active logins that are no longer valid due to users disconnecting without logging off.

When using "STAT LOGIN" can I see active logins 0-4. No one else is able to login. Actually if I have 5 active logins and none are using the INADS, the INADS will not answer when attempting to dail-in.

The PBX only allows 5 active sessions on it. If one of the 4 other logins (not SAT) are not doing anything, either ask them to logoff or you can boot them off by doing a reset login # (where # is the number corresponding to their session)

This is one of the many downfalls of having too many people who administer or have access to a PBX, most people will login via ASA in the morning and do nothing, and take up a session. then when you have to make a change , you either can't get in or they have it locked due to a "change station 1234" command. this is where the reset login # command is great.

I have found in the documenation that the G3R should allow 7 active logins. I have had an Avaya technicain tell me that the limit was 8. That is why I am questioning the 5 limitation...
Thank you for your help.

i believe that is the number of active login IDs (list login xxxxxx) not Login sessions on the pbx. i could be mistaken though.

From the Administrator's Guide for release 9:

The DEFINITY One system allows up to 14 simultaneous connections (logins) (DEFINITY can have 5 connections, AUDIX can have 4 connections, and the rest of the connections are reserved for shell commands.)

What documentation that you have that gives you 7 connections?

Weird.....the only comment that I have is that the FAQ that you reference states that

The number of switch administrators and super-users who can log in simultaneously to view switch reports varies with the type of switch you have. A scheduled report counts as a login.

I wonder if scheduled reports counts as a shell logon, and not a Definity logon.
