I am attempting to load the Avaya Application Server and keep running into an error.

I downloaded and burned the latest ISO to a DVD. I insert the DVD and it boots, allows me to select keyboard type and check media..

Then the screen says.....

"Opening Anaconda CentOS Linux installer, please wait....."

then after a few seconds I get this.....

"bogl: opening /dev/fb0: no such file or directory "
"sending termination signals.....done"

and then the system reboots and starts over.

Can anyone help? I got this error on both of the ISO's I tried and both computers I tried loading it on.

Thanks

What model device are you trying to load this on? Does it meet memory annd other hardware specs? I've set up several linux appp servers and all went seamlessly, but all were on server class hardware.

Its a higher end P4 with plenty of ram. While its not quite server grade hardware, I would think it would load up and work as a demo unit. It seems to be getting a file error. It doesn't need the LINUX OS first, does it? The docmentation indicates that the OS is written write from the install disk.

Just an update... I had a spare Dell Laptop with Core2 duo CPU and 2 Gigs RAM. The installation seems to be taking on this machine. The desktop that I was using is not much less than the Dell, so I am still wondering why I was getting this error. I will have to try loading it on a Dell desktop to see what happens. biv343, could you post some samples of the hardware you have used? I see your point about possibly needing to make sure its top line.

A pentium 4 is old and probably not meeting the requirement that are needed.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I've used various dell and hp servers as well as virtual servers with VM Ware and Hyper-V. I never tried loading the linux version on a desktop or laptop. My traveling demo kit has VM Pro running on a laptop, but that runs windows so I can have manager, softphone and softconsole all on one device.

make sure there isn't some kind of firmware or motherboard based raid on the system. I've had systems (intel server MB's) where the app server would refuse to install.

In its present version the app server seems to either want no raid (e.g. sata) or a raid it knows nothing about (hardware raid controller). Anything else, and the install will hang.

You need special/latest drivers (linux), so look on the drivers site from the manufacturer of the server/pc.
