I can't hear music or background sounds on my computer. I can hear a ding when I get new mail and I can hear my computer dial up when I go on the internet. Can anyone help. I cannot get sound from my CD's or any web page sounds, music

Hi, I got an error message "No audio device." Is this something I can load from my software? I just had my computer into the shop to debug it.
