I can't get windows to boot up. I put in the boot disk and went to the c drive and tried to load winodws from there it showed me two error messages: Registry file was not found. Registry services maybe inoperative for this session. Xms cache problem. Registry services may be inoperative this session and after that it said VFAT device initialization failed. Does anyone have any ideas????

What happened just before "I cant get windows to boot up"?

Also at the DOS prompt you can type SCANREG/FIX or SCANREG/RESTORE this last one will give you a choice of registry backups that Winders has made for you.

I have progress a bit. I ended up running scanreg /restore from the c:/windows/command/. It will run but when it starts it gives me:

Invalid system configure data - Run configure utility error
IRQ not configured PCI on motherboard
IRQ not configured PCI Display Controller on Motherboard
IRQ not configured PCI on motherboard
IRQ not configured PCI network controller in slot 3.

f1 to resue f2 to setup

If I hit f1 it loads up but when I shut down it won't turn off the tower.

You can't get windows to boot up from the boot disk. Too many things need to be loaded and there isn't enough room on the floppy.
