Hi

there's a lot of information on schedmac, but not quite enough it seems for me to be able to get it to work. I've told schedmac the import format is

Code:
ACTION D_LNAME D_FNAME D_EXT D_PRIME D_DPT D_LOC D_ELEM D_CAB D_SHELF D_SLOT D_CIRC D_DEV D_TEMPL

my test input file is

Code:
ADD,Findlay,Bob,2385,No,CDB,Lab,Corporate,Jic3300, 9, 1, 5,11,ONS/OPS,Default Add
ADD,testing,,2385,No,CDB,Lab,Corporate,Jic3300, 9, 1, 5,11,ONS/OPS,Default Add

but when I validate the file, it gives 2 errors and says check the logs.

so

1. where are the logs? I've checked the eventlog on the enterprise manager but nothing there.
2. any idea what's wrong with what I've specified?
3. this is to sync our corporate information on names/tel numbers with the mitel3300s. I've seen mention of people doing this directly at mySQL level. Is there any information anywhere on how to do that?

thanks

Bob

In your test file you have 15 fields of data but in your file format you have 14 fields.

you're right, sorry, I should have spotted that. It validates now (and says see log), so I would still like to know where the logs are though. any idea?

The logs are located in the Event Viewer of the Ent/Ops server.

you are not required to use all fields. Only the fields you change.

To change a name for example you need:

Action D_Lame D_FNAME D_EXT

The order does not matter either.

You then need to set up an import filter to match your file.
