Morning all

We have 2 machines (Dell Optiplex GX260) both with XP. They are both on a domain with roaming profiles. The problem is that after disable the cache function on shared folders/drive it promptly re-enables itself when it reboot/logoff. This in turn causes the profile space to be exceeded, thus denying the user the ability to log off or shut down.
Has any one else seen/heard of this before?

Any help would be greatly apprieciated.

Morning

Thanks for the link, I've read it but unfortunatley the machines affedted (which has risen to 3 now) are not Terminal Services systems but standard Dell boxes.

The Search continues............

There are a number of ways to accomplish this. first of all remember onje thing you need to disable the sharing folder (opr eliminate it permanently) each machine separately regardless of any networking etc that is going on. I am not sure how comfortable you are in dealing with try so I won't recommend any spoecific solution except to say this do a google search on the term" delete share folder in XP" or something similar. There are sa lot of instructions that deal with registry changes andd several software answers. where you can download a small file and run it , and it will make the change for you.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help[. but google is , at least in my point of view, a starting point for most any answer you need. I use the toolbar and it is a life safer.
