It just won't work despite the fact that it used to work, and since system data is password protected, nobody could change programming.

All phones are in Service Feature class 15.
For that class, CM1563>15>1, enable Privacy Release.

And CM15182>15>0 allows direct privacy release.

Yet, when I'm on a call, another station trying to get in the call by pressing my line-appearance on his phone gets fast-busy.

If I try to release privacy with the "CONF" button while I'm on the phone with another party, nothing happens, the button won't even start flashing.

Do I have to reset the system? Or the conference card? Or I'm simply missing something else?

PS: I'm using Dterm IP phones

You say it was working?
With the IP phones?
Can you test the feature with regular TDM devices?
The Privacy release function requires a PAD channel as this is a TDM PBX feature. This can sometimes be an issue if you are using IP stations through a VPN due to the connection scenario and VPN setup.
Can you give the exact setup? E.g. IP Dterm station A calls IP Dterm Station B etc...

Sorry, I forgot to put down all details: yes, these are IP phones. While I don't have access to all the phones on the site, I have a LAN connection ran to my office from the system, where I have two test IP phones set up.

The 2000 IPS is connected to the main 2400 NEAX ICS with a CCIS card.

So when I test this feature (and this is how it used to work), I do the following:

I establish a connection from one of the test IP phones to a phone (also in my office) off the 2400. Then I try to hit the line appearance button of the first IP phone (which is in use) on the other IP phone. I get fast busy.

The only way I can establish a conference is the ordinary way:
1. Establish connection with 1st party.
2. Xfer button and call second party.
3. Upon answer, hit the CONF button.

Another weirdness:
Once this conference is established, I try to hang up the 2nd IP phone. I go on-hook to do this, but the display stil shows that it's in conference with the other two phones. And I can't get dial tone out of this phone, until I release the connection with the remaining 2 phones...

What's all this?

Ok break it down to help isolate the issue.
Place a call to a TDM phone in the 2000 so that you can rule out any issues with the CCIS to the 2400 and then test the call scenario again.

It's now working. Without going into detailed testing, I reset the system and now it's back to normal.

Thanks.
