Hi, Just installed a 0x16 meridian system at home.

I had the thing working ok until I decided to reset it to default settings and reprogram it with my own.

Now it seems whatever I do, I cant get an outside line. Every time I press 9 I get a message that says no free lines available. When I press line 1 or line 2 I get the message 'not in service'.

I managed to obtain a manual, have spent hours going through it, but still cant seem to solve the problem.

Any help would be fantastic, Regards, Jason

ps All I want to be able to do is select Line 1 or Line 2 from each phone and also be able answer either of the lines.

YOU NEED TO PLACE THOSE LINES IN A LINE POOL AND THEN GIVE YOURSELF ACCESS TO THAT LINE POOL

Thanks PERRYPJ,

Excuse me for being a bit thick, how do I do that?
The manual assumes a fair bit of knowledge and I just dont have it! Regards, Jason

you said you had a 0x16 that means o lines 16 extensions! Do you have a line card in this unit? if so feature **config ,show set you want to progrm and assign lines.

Hi, Thanks for your replies. It is configured for 8 lines and 32 extensions.
I have managed to get the lines set up on LINE 1 & LINE 2 buttons, but when I press 9 it defaults to LINE 2.

My questions are: 1, How do I get the 9 button to default to line 1 (and only go to line 2 when line 1 is busy)

and 2, when I dial ext 223 it rings 4 phones not just ext 223, any ideas why this is?

Regards, Jason

the line 1,2 behavior can be changed by switching line 1 and line 2 physically at the point where they enter the Norstar.

Could be a number of reasons why multiple phones ring for 233.

If you want your system to operate correctly, and exactly as you desire, I suggest you call a qualified vendor. They will be able to program it in less than an hour. The manuals are not meant as a guide for end-users. They are a reference for telecom techs.
