Received a hp pavilion laptop as gift. Can connect it to home network but can not get on web. Using Belkin router. Desktop and ibm thinkpad laptop connect without problem to homenetwork. hp says its a Belkin problem. Belkin says its a microsoft problem. Issue seems to be in ip config not being received by pavilion from router due to microsoft security patch not on new pavilion laptop. Anybody know where to get same or have other ideas re what the issue is? Thanks!

Thanks much for the reply. After hours and hours on the phone with HP technicians, the final technician determined that it's a "hardware" problem and the computer has been returned to them for repair. I'm not convinced that's the issue but will see it connects to the web when returned to me.
