There are 4 settings for when plugged in and 4 settings for when on battery.
Can someone tell me the most advantageous to be on for each. Now they are
on nothing. I would say if I walk away for 15 min something should happen
shouldn't it?
When Puter is Plugged In
1. Turn off monitor
2. Turn off hard drive
3. System Standby
4. System hibernates

When Puter is on battery
1. Turn off monitor
2. Turn off hard drive
3. System Standby
4. System hibernates

Right now they are all on NEVER
If I do change the settings and comeback to the computer do I just push the
power setting for a few secs?

NOTE: It says "indicates 2 revision levels are incompatible" when I try &
after any changes are made.

Next time I go on it shows new settings even though i couldn't save, and the new settings never work :(

Thanks

Hello,

Is your XP Pro an ungrade on a Windows 98 installation?

Others will possibly have some input here, but I believe your problem could be corrected by performing a repair install.

Here is a very simple explanation to completing the task:

Be careful, taking your time to choose the correct method in which you work with your install CD.

Wait to see what others may have to say. A few opinions are always best.

To use Windows Power Options, you must have a computer that is set up by the manufacturer to support these features. For more information, see the documentation that came with your computer.
