Hi all,

I was making some adjustment to bios and over clocked my cpu which resulted in nothing happening when i turned the power on (blank screen) and in me having to start the machine holding "page up' and thus recovering the safe default.

But when i start the machine now i get a bios sequence with auto detects the ide drives, cd rom and then freezes.

I have the option to hit deleted and enter the bios settings but it freezes and doesnt progress any further.

is there anything i can do to get into my bios settings or start windows for here?

Thanks, Shaun

If your system has onboard devices that you have supplemented: video, sound, anything, remove them.

Repeat your steps to load BIOS defaults.

If still no joy, go to the motherboard site and download their BIOS update utility. Follow the instructions to create a flash BIOS bootable floppy. Re-flash the BIOS.

Then after other issues are sorted, add you PCI devices back one by one.

Ok suggest taking out the c-mos battery for about 30 secs, then put it back in. Enter the bios and change the settings and save changes.

In an event of this type, my first inclination would be to remove the battery from the motherboard; wait a few minutes; re-install the battery, and then re-boot. Any comments on this?

Thanks guys! It's up and running!
