Just started using MX as my main editing tool. In design view, I have a web page open where all the image source locations are hardcoded and MX will not display them in Design View. This is frustrating the heck out of me! Is there a setting somewhere that will allow MX to display the images for me? All it's showing is the broken image icon.

How are you inserting your "hard coded" images? Try navigating to an image within the site root, this should show you what you need to use as a path.

Cheech,
Basically the images on the page all have their long address in the src tag. In any other application (frontpage, golive, etc), the image will be loaded in "design view", but in Dreamweaver apparently this doesn't happen. It's really frustrating when you're trying to work on a page without saving all your images on your hard drive.

Then no DW does not display images in design view that are not within the site root, you could use an image placeholder to show where images are though

no matter how long the address is the images should be displayed if u configured the site correctly. U can set the default image folder in the site config. but above all...like cheech said,it will be enough to have them somewhere in the site folder. if u don't have the copy of images anywhere in your site then use Image Place holders.
...
All the best!
