I installed the software for a logitech wireless mouse. Previously using a Microsoft Intellimouse.

After installation, mouse no longer works. When reboot, there is no mouse. Same thing happens if boot in safe mode. I uninstalled the Logitech software (difficult without a mouse). Same problem.

When I used a cd boot disk (software from BartPE), standard mouse works -- so I know this is a software, not a hardware problem.

My guess is some kind of conflict was created with the new driver. But how do I fix this? Especially without a mouse.

Thanks for response. I failed to mention that the mouse I'm now using is standard one connected to the mouse port on the back of the computer. The first two links referred to problems with USB mice.

The last link was for Win XP. Do you know if I can use the same solution for Win 2000?

Did you link the mouse with the wireless base?
The mouse will not work if it can’t find the base....
Follow the MFG instructions to get the two to communicate.
If that dosent work then remove the mouse drivers in the device manager under mice and pointing devices the re-install the new mouse drivers.

Sysadminguru - thanks for the response. Don't know the answer -- but main problem right now is that no mouse works - even a standard one connected to the ps2 port.
