Can't find Internet

I have a computer that has the best of me. I cannot figure out what is wrong with it. it will get on the local network just fine. but it will not get out onto the internet. all of the numbers are correct between the computer and the server. I believe it is a setting or something inside the computer itself but I can't seem to find it.

Does the network need a proxy server to access the internet? If so is this set.

I'm afraid no proxy server here.

How are you setting up the computer? DHCP or static. What is your internet connection? You should try the forum for your operating system as this is probably not a hardware problem because you can get to the internal network.
