cant fax out on option 11 on fax lines but can receive calls

Please help. l have a option 11 nortel. faxes on this switch cannot receive faxe from outside. but can send fax. l looked at the universal trk card and no light lit on them. any help or suggestions will be appreciated.

Are they all set with DID numbers?
When you call the number what do you hear?
If you plug in a regular analog phone, does it ring can you answer and are you able to make calls?
If you can make calls, call your cell phone and make sure the number is correct.

That's a bit vague.
What happens when you try to send a fax?
Does it ring? Busy signal? Recording?

If your using pots lines for faxing, check for dial tone at the "D" mark. If a fax is set up to use any line for outgoing, that would explain being able to send, but if the incoming faxes use dedicated lines, they may be bad from the CO.

cannot dial out on a butt set either. However sending fax goes well

Faxing out seem to be using other trunks for out calling. Do you use an access code to dial out? I prefer not to run fax lines through the PBX unless their is a good reason to do so. So with what you describe, I would say the carrier has a dead line and you need to report it to them.
