I an installing a MICS with PRI and callpilot....the customer is porting some existing number to the new pri.

My question is when i try to build a target line for the old number (rec# 9165) it won't take the 9.

Any suggestions?

CHECK TO SEE IF THE 9 IS BEING USED FOR A DESTINATION CODE OR IS IN USE FOR LINE POOL(EXTERNAL ACCESS)

nine is being used for destination code, but why would that matter? Routing is for outgoing and target lines are for incoming. Only the received digit begins with 9. the extensions are 3600.

They cannot conflict. There are lots of things the first incoming digit cant conflict with. You should probably get a nortel vendor onsite for such a project.

One more question....can I just change the destination code to any and delete the 9?

external code of 9 has been deleted, extension/DID range is 3600-3699. They are converting 5 existing POTS to DID, those numbers are as follows:

5672
0622
0394
4765
9165

all are ok except 9165

ask the CO to drop 9 and insert another digit that doesnt conflict

Kh3572,

Here is what you need to look at, if it doesn't help you may want to teke bkrike's advice and call in a vendor. Good Luck.

Dest codes
The numbers used for destination codesmust not conflict with:
• CallParkPrefix(Park prefix on page 358)
• External Access code (External code on page 359)
• Direct Dial numbers (Direct-dial # on page 359)
• Line Pool code (Line pool codes on page 357)
• internal set numbers (Terminals&Sets on page 257)
• DISADNs(DISA DN on page 361)
• Auto DNs (Auto DN on page 360)

For example, the system will confuse an internal number of
221 and a destination code of 22 because the call would be
routed using the first two digits, even if the caller dialed the
complete internal number. However, an internal number of
221 and a destination code of 23 would work.

To make the digits available for use with destination codes,
you must change the DN length of B1 and B2 DNs, depending
on your system size. This can be done either at system startup
or in System prgrming. The examples shown above use a
three-digit DN length unless stated otherwise.
