I have card slot 56-1-11 that I can't enable the card that is in that slot. If I plug/unplug the card in the I get the XMI messages, but cannot enable the card. Thoughts?

Yes. I have an analog phone programmed on that card. I stat the card and it shows idle. I disable and enable the card and get an NPR326 response.

There aren't any bent pins on the backplane and cards work in other slots.

I had something similar a few weeks ago on a remote IPE shelf hanging off a 61c. Disabling the XPEC controller for that shelf, powering the shelf down, re-seating the controller, powering up, and re-enabling the XPEC brought the card back to service. Coincidentally, it was and Analog MWLC in Slot 11.

Tried reseating the controller card and still cannot enable any card that is in slot 11.

Next thing to do is to disable the loop and reseat the superloop network card and enable the loop.

Other things to try after the SUPL card....(if there is still a problem)

1. Drop a DLC in that slot and build a digital set on it to confirm that the slot works (or doesn't)
2. Make sure nothing is amiss on the backside of the back-plane - all the cabling is correct and nothing touching any contacts inadvertently. I can also imagine that possibly the slot was used for a special application in the past and there might be special application cabling in place on the back-plane that's interfering with the card operation...unless you know for sure that a MWLC worked in this slot before.
2a. Swap the Tip/Ring cables with another known working one (a short in the ribbon cable between two analog ports could cause problems) - be careful with this one, backside connector ports are easy to break if done improperly and without the "tool"
3. Double check the card connector pins - sometimes we miss stuff...
4. Swap the PowerSupply and RingGen for this shelf.
5. Replace the card cage.
Whew! That should about cover it. If for some reason you aren't qualified for the above procedures, please get help from someone who is. No point in causing more issues that you might currently have....
Good Luck!

I was in the process of doing your list of options and figured, what the hell, and changed the controller card out while I had the shelf down. The card slot is working now. Never thought a controller card would be the culprit for a single card slot. Thanks for your help.

Well...there you have it. Sometimes it just makes you shake your head.
I'm glad you fixed your issue.
