Can't enable AGP Texture Acceleration in DirectX

Hi,Ive got a Voodoo3 3000 AGP card,and I Can't enable AGP Texture Acceleration in DirectX.i have a GA-7IXE4 mobo, with a Thunderbird chip.
Can any one please help? Is it not possible with my V33000?
And if so, why?

From memory I had the same problem about a year ago.

I managed to contact 3dfx before they were bout out and they said "that they are aware of it and it should still be enabled. Just not in Direct X"

I kept meaning to follow this up to make sure. but I never got the time
