Can't Edit CMS Reports

Why is it I can't edit any CMS reports without getting an error?

I've tried editing the canned reports and custom reports. For some reason if I try to make ANY changes to the report I get a Bad Handle error.

At this point if I want to make any changes to any reports I have to rebuild them from scratch. This can be a major pain when someone keeps wanting me to tweak their report.

Any ideas what could cause this?
 
How are you doing this?
I mean, what application are you using to change the report?

I am getting two errors. The first says:

The server was unable to execute a query for this report. Correct the problem and try again, or contact Technical Support.

Query1

The second says:

Unable to complete the requested operation. Please try again or contact Technical Support.

Error: 28106 Bad Handle
Location: ReEngine: QEngine:2120

I just created this error by editing the query and adding one database item. Didn't even add it to the table. It doesn't matter what item I add it always crashes to this error. EVEN if I take an item out!!

I have searched Google and get no matches at all.

Any ideas?
 
not sure how you edited the query to start with? But, if you used "vi" or some editor that was not meant to be used to edit a data file of this type. It most likely broke the data file and can no longer be used. You should always create a backup of any file, before you edited it. This way if you break something, the original file can be restored.

You will have to build it from scratch.

Are you using Report Designer or editing the custom reports through ASA and screen painter.


[Started on Version 3 software 15 years a go]
 
I am doing custom reports in CMS. Not designer. Just edit existing report.
