Can't download Windows Updates

I have a laptop here with 98se on it, when I go to the WU site, it searches for updates and displayes the ones I need, but twhen I attempt to download/install them, it just sits there, no download ever starts.
I have cleaned the WU folders, temp and temp internet files folders.
Is there some ocx file that needs to be re registered or something?

This is for Win 2000 and XP, but something here may also apply to your system:

If the above does not help, then give it a few days, and try again.
Sometimes the WU site goes a little bananas.

As Ski said, you might want to wait a couple of days and try again. But you can order a free Security Update cd from Microsoft, no charge and no shipping fee, for Win.98 thru XP.

You might have a bit of a wait for this CD.
I ordered my CD copy from Microsoft on 2-24-04. It arrived today (4-1404), almost 8 weeks later.
