HI everyone,

I have a Dell server running Exchange 2000 Small Business set up to access an ISP's pop3 accounts. I was receiving an error 86 that the pop3 connector could not access the mailboxes. I reinstalled the connector and the message no longer appears. Service packs are up to date. SMTP mail sends just fine, but pop3 mail does not appear in the clients' inboxes. Any ideas? What should I look out for?

I overcame this problem by adding an SMTP connector for the ISP domain. So I have my small business SMTP connector, I have the Pop3 Connector with the ISP login and password etc, and I have a SMTP connector setup with the domain of the ISP in the address field. Once I did that I began to receive all mail.

Thanks for the advice lostincyberspace! I'll give that a try!

Thanks, I too am encountering the same problem and have tried the above solution. Unfortunatley it hasn't resolved my problem because I still have no inbound mail. Can any one help!

I have enabled maximum logging for the pop3 connector and it shows that the messages is being downloaded but cannot be viewed from an Outlook client 2k or XP Pro.

I have the same problem!!
I can download mail to user's mailboxes using PopWeasel ( but not using the POP3 maill connector in Exchange 2K (I'm running SBS 2000)
With the PopWeasel setup I have to provide an Admin account to authenticate with the SMTP server. There is no such facility in Exchange POP3 connector properties.
