can't download Flash Player

I can't download Macromedia Flash Player. Nothing happens after I hit download, All I get is the box with the 3 little looks like triangles in the upperleft corner. Something has to be missing from my system and I can't find what it is.

visti macromedia flash site and install the player...to be sure..then try to view the flash files
