Hello,

Can't dial out..and i don't know why?
I have three co lines connected to the ip401, extensions are able to dial internally but not external numbers. [exa 91234567890] get dial tone after 9, then dial the number..then dead silence [display phone reads Dial] silence..and the call does not go through.
I checked shorcodes, and line config are set to 'Both Directions' still calls don't leave the system..

What else should i check? helppppp..please.
Thanks.

I trust that your trunks are in the same outgoing line group as the 9 code is?

try dialling NNNNNN# where N is number followed by hash. This will force an endblock dial and you may have success. Is there LCR in play? (this will change things) If it is version 3, have you numbered\indexed the lines?

Thanks CArGoski and hohumIPO,

Yes - the trunks are the same for the line group. I left it as default Incoming group id: 0; Outgoing group id: 0 [is that what you mean?]

I tried dialing NNNN# and nothing happens ...dead silence..it is version 2.1(15)

and I am able to receive external calls..

I upgraded it to version 3.0(40)...still the same issue.

I enabled the co lines to transfer a call to an external number. And I tried that .. it works.

check the shortcode for dialing out

should be

code:?
number:.
line group id:0
feature:dial

just a thought

thanks woodlee.
It works now.
The solution to is basically this.
The ip office401 has 4 co[analog] ports. Only 3 of them are being used, so I set the 4th line trunk type to 'out of service'. what i did not do was to change the outgoing line number, i left as 0 [set by default] so the system was trying to go that way..even though the 4th line trunk was set to 'out of service'..that's why it was dead silence, and that is why transfer to external number worked.
Thanks everyone for trying to help me. Have a nice day.
