I am trying to demote a DC, but it isn't happening...

I am getting the following error message:

The Operation Failed
Managing the network session with DC1.domainname.com Failed

Logon Failure: The target account name is incorrect.

Any help you can give would be great.

Thanks

Conrad

Sorry...

This is a Windows 2000 Server.

Thanks

On a lark, are your DNS settings correct on this DC?

Is the DC you're demoting "DC1" or another domain controller?

Thanks,

Joe

Thanks for trying I appreciate it.

This morning after rebooting the Main Server (DC1) and the Secondary Server (DC2), I was able to then demote DC2.

Well, if anyone ever has this problem again... We'll have one more thing to try (early on) before we rack our brains.

Thanks again

Conrad
