I'm having the strangest problems. For one thing, anytime I run an .exe file, either the process uses up 99% of the cpu and my computer slows to a CRAWL and I have to shut down the process - OR - I get an error message "unable to create a file in the Windows Temporary Directory. Please ensure that you have write permission for this and adequate space is available."
I DO have rights and there is PLENTY (and then some) space available.

The 2nd strange thing is that I now cannot delete ANY files from my comptuer. When I try to do so i get the messsage "cannot delete xxxfile: The directory or file cannot be created".

There's more quirky things going on I can't figure out, but maybe someone can help?

I did run virus scans and there are no virusus on this computer. It's relatively new also (2 months).

THANKS!

Sounds like it may be a permissions issue.

You say that it is new. Did you call the Vendor support for help. thats what I would do first.

No, I haven't called yet. This just started happening today. I'll call and see what help they will be.

If System Restore fails to solve your problem try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right click your Drive icon/ Properties/ Tools/ Error Checking.

Run the System File Checker program from the Run Box by typing.....Sfc /Scannow in it and have your XP CD handy.

If they don't work you could try repairing windows itself by running it over itself. You will lose all your windows updates but your files will be untouched.

Was your virus program updated and set to scan "all files"?
A second opinion from an online virus scanner might be an option too.
