Hi, everyone!

I'm running Windows XP Pro. I purchased and downloaded a game (Links 2003) but had some trouble. The first download didn't finish and the download won't resume. (The second download went fine and the game plays.)

The half-completed file won't allow me to delete it. It says something else may be using it. I've found and read the FAQ on not being able to delete a file: rebooted into safe mode but get the same message. I already have Process Explorer (the second suggestion in the FAQ), so ran it to try to find the problem-child file, but it doesn't appear to be doing anything with the search.

Is there a way to force deletion of this useless file?

Thanks!

Thanks, guys!

I tried Unlocker first, but it won't delete the file either. Explore.exe has the lock on it and it just comes back after unlocking faster than I can delete the file. I will now try Killbox, but what's the "full path" to a file on the desktop?

Woohoo! Never mind about the path; Killbox has a browse button. :)

Killbox couldn't delete the file, either, until I ran Unlocker on the file first. Between the two of them, these programs removed it.

You guys rock! Stars for both of you. :)
