Trying to connect Crystal 8.5 to Gm 6.0. I set up my System Dsn as a Microsoft dbase driver (dbf) and pointed to my GoldMine directory.

The problem occurs when I try to set the database location in Crystal - everytime I click on Set Location, browse to my ODBC source and try to access it my pc hangs. The process monitor indicates rystal is still trying but I have left it alone for almost an hour and still no luck.

What am I doing wrong? Or has anyone else seen this? I have tried on multiple pc's as well.

Thanks!

When you say "Goldmine Directory", what is that, exactly? The database itself is not in the Goldmine directory.

Also, is there a reason you are using ODBC to connect? I am an ODBC fan but I have never had to use it with Goldmine, I just connect directly to the .dbf files.

GM Directory - I mean data files - its a dbf file.

I am trying to run Crystal reports from GM 6.0 Report Menu. The only way to do it is using odbc.

The connection finally went through after I trie 3 times but it took over 30 minutes. Then when I ran the report the 1st time it took 30 minutes again. Now it comes up fairly quickly.

I just dont know why its taking sooo long to make the connection.
