Cant Connect To Exchange

I have a virtual exchange server, its for 70-272.

It is on the same ip range as the client and emails i send to the username@domain appears in the mailbox bit in exchange but outlook says there is a problem connecting to the server to retrieve the email. All usernames and passwords are correct.

Any ideas or things i should have done but havnt?

These are all virtual and running on a virtual LAN.

from the client, can you:
1. ping the Exchange box via IP address?
2. ping the Exchange box via name?
3. connect to OWA?

hi, can ping by ip and by server name, after poking around it appears the pop3 service was disabled. It works now but asks for a name and password....it doesnt seem to like them tho.

You should not be needing POP3 in your case.
Another simple but usual suspect is DNS, check that too.

Sorted, keyboard had reverted to US and the the @ in the password was different. Thanks for your quick reply

Yeah, its part of the mcdst thing, they wouldnt let me get a copy of the virtual hard drives so i said id do my own ones.

its purely experimental.
