I have secure remote vpn install on my machine, I authenticate to my company's firewall and when I try to access the server via http. I get a message that page cannot be displayed cannot find server. On my company's side they can me see authenticate and also see my http connection but there no indication on my side.

Please help anyone. Search everywhere and was told by previous person in my position that problem had persisted since last October.

How are you entering the
Are you using the DNS name of the server such as or the IP address
You may have DNS turned off at the VPN concentrator.

Put the IP address and DNS name in the host file on your local PC and this should correct the issue. Also make sure the website is not https versus http

Let us know.

They told me I should be using

Did you put the DNS name and the IP in the host file?

Also if it requires the domain name in the DNS name of the server to include that. Such as 192.168.0.1 myserver.southbend

What VPN solution are you using?

Checkpoint Secure VPN 1

Im not sure about checkpoint but with Cisco VPN you can allow or disallow DNS. From what your describing it sounds like DNS issues at the concentrator from your PC. I would attempt to put an entry in the host file locally on your PC to do the work of a DNS server.

thanks Bfox, I will let u know how it turns out.
