Hello,
My system is Fedora3. I installed sucessfully apache2.
If i enter it seems all right.
But i can't connect to apache from outsite (from internet).
I don't have domain. I have static ip. I try to connect to web site using that ip like and i geting error message that browser can't find address.
My question is: I neet to configure apache or it should work with defoult settings.
I don't have router i desibled firewall.
If somebady can help...please.

It should work with the default settings which are listen for all addresses on port 80. Do you have a router or anything between the machine that apache is on and the modem? Some dsl services call the dsl modem a gateway.

Thanks for answer.
I don't have router is just sprint dsl modem and computer with apache.
But before i had dynamic ip and i switch to static ip. But i did not configured my computer to use static ip because internet still works fine. Maybe apache needs that. I don't known.

sebastianch,

If you can connect to but you can't connect using your routable IP address, your DSL modem might need port forwarding set up.

Each router (or modem with built-in routing) has a different configuration method. Check the documentation for yours and set it up to forward port 80 to the LAN IP of your server and you should be good to go.
