I discovered that during my attempt to change or remove a station I received an error "object in use, please try again later". I did find that the number had been call forwarded to another number. I simply added the extension to my phone (bridged) and canceled call forwarding. Hope this helps anyone who's had similar issues.

If this doesn't work, go the PBX and connect a phone directly to port (at MDF) and see if it responds. Disable any DND or send, call forwarding from there then try doing change/delete station again.

Try 'status station x'. If it shows the station 'off-hook', do 'busy station x', then do 'remove station x'.

Object in Use:
busy / release will drop call and can also be used to logout an agent. Must be on the primary of the busy station.
1. station or bridge of station is on a call
2. agent is logged into the station

busy / release and even disconnecting the phone may not resolve this. Push the normal button and make sure all buttons on the phone are idle.

3. Ring Cut Off Act? yes (see with status station)
timer, directory, and many other buttons could be active and the station user walked away.

Call forward state and send all calls state have nothing to do with "Object in Use" and busy / release will not change these states

A great teacher, does not provide answers, but methods to teach others "How and where to find the answers"

also try "list usage extension XXXX", then status each one of those stations. If any of the stations that have a "bridged appearance" of the station you are trying to modify are in use, you will have to wait until they hangup.
