I have a BCM50 Rls 6.0. In the example below i can not change the DN type of any route associated with pool BlocB BlocC and so on. BlocB is where i have my PRI lines associated.

Normally you can drop down the DN type feild and select either: public, private, National, International, Special, or local, but i do not have any of these options.

000 A N/A N/A N/A
001 BlocA Public (Unknown) N/A N/A
002 BlocB N/A N/A N/A

BlocA is associated with VOIP trunks, I can change the DN type for BlocA.

I tried to swap the pri and voip line pools to see if it changed the issue but it would not let me select BlocA for the PRI, which i think is normal because it is set aside for VOIP. However no matter where i put the PRI I cant change the DN type. I think it is something in the Dial plan programming but im not sure.

I need to be able to select National for the particular location so they can dial out. This was how the OLD BCM i am replacing was setup.

Any help would be Much appreciated.

Have alook at this

This setting tells the system what type of line protocol the route uses to process the dial string.
MCDN private networks: Local, National and Special are special designators used to route calls from Meridian 1 systems, through BCM systems, out to the public network. The codes for these settings are defined under Telephony > Dialling plan > General > Private Networks
tab. When the BCM receives outgoing calls from the Meridian 1, it recognizes the call type and appends the appropriate access code to the Meridian dial string.
This code then matches to a route that uses the same DN type, passing the call along, either to another node (the route would have the same DN type) or to the public network (the route would have aPublic DN type), depending on the routing information.

Yeah i think it may be connected to a CS1k, i know it has MCDN and Qsig keycodes.

But either way i should be able to set the pool to public, i have a demo BCM in my lab and i can change any line pool bloc to either setting.

Any ideas why I cant change this one?

Also I found out more data, this BCM is being swapped out because it had some CDR issues. The replacement BCM was a 5.0 that was upgraded to 6.0 to match the old one. After being ungraded the BCM was restored with a backup from the original 6.0 BCM. After the restore all of the lines had defaulted to Pool BlocA. The tech who did the restore corrected the line pool info as well as some other info.

Does anyone think the restore could have caused this issue?

Or possibly the keycodes were not brought over correctly?

I have to get it working by monday, any help will be much appreciated!!! I can be contacted via cell if the need be!

Thank you,

Eric

Is the system patched to date? If so, I would try deconfiguring the PRI module, reboot, and then reconfigure it. Write down all your settings first.

It has the latest 6.0 SU patches. I tried deconfiguring the PRI module, rebooting, and then reconfiguring it with no luck...

Any other ideas??

Thank you,

Eric
