I am using outlook 2003 and I am not able to change the default mail editor. When I go the property page to change it it is grayed out. Any suggestions.

Are you on a Windows domain and are there group policies being applied that denies you access to this feature?

Yes, I am on a windows domain. No, there are no policies preventing it. I have several users that use different editors.

I think there is an issue that if you use an older version of Word than Outlook (example, you use Outlook 2003, but Word 2002)then the check box to choose Word as your editor is grayed out. Don't know if that applies in your case.

pgaliardo is correct. It's a known issue. If you're using Outlook 2003, you'll need to upgrade Word to 2003 for it to work.
