Hi Guys,

Having a strange fault with our in-house One-X Portal server. I can't seem to web browse to One-X Portal, from either or I just get the Page Can't Be Displayed error. This happens from any machine on the network, including the server itself, which suggests that it can't be AV or firewall, but these have all been turned off to anyway to test. I can't even browse to I have tried both IE and Chrome and get the same fault on both. It works fine however if on the server I browse to localhost:8080/onexportal.html or 127.0.0.1:8080/onexportal.html, so it looks like One-X Portal itself is OK, and its maybe a windows fault? It's installed on Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard. I can browse to the server's default IIS page without any problems. Is it possible that Windows could be listening on port 8080 on 127.0.0.1 but not on its IP Address?

Has anybody had this before, or any idea what could be causing it?

Thanks,

Joe Newton

I would check if the One-X Portal service is running.
If not then start it.
It is running then restart it.

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

I've checked the IIS bindings, it all looks OK. Would that make any difference anyway since it uses Tomcat not IIS?

No it's not the service, the service and server have both been restarted multiple times. I've uninstalled One-X Portal and reinstalled - no change. Plus it works fine from localhost:8080/onexportal.html, so the service must be running. It's just not accessible from its IP address or name (on both the server itself and other machines).

Then it is a firewall issue i think.

don't disable the service, just run the fw.bat firewall file from Avaya it will put all the exceptions in for you.

The firewall is turned off, but I've run the fw.bat file anyway and its not made any difference. Any other suggestions?

What else is installed on the server?
This sounds like some corruption to me.

What happens if you type you should get the IIS logo or nothing. and if you goto Invalid page request! and a small tomcat logo. If those aren't working in the same pc then one-x will never work. Make sure the system has over 4096Mb RAM so 4000Mb is not enough!.
