can't browse the internet

I have a w2k pc that is on a lan and can see all computers on the network. It can ping the internet, but can't use internet explorer nor can it reach the pop server that is on our lan to receive e-mails, however you can explore network places and reach the server. Any Ideas anyone?

I am having the same problem with a win2k pro unit. Was there a fix out there other than reloading the unit. It is a path I do not want to have to go down?!

Unfortuantly I haven't found a fix yet and with time pressing I found the quickest solution was to rebuild. It's nice to know I am not the only one who has had this problem. Good luck!
