Can't Bold a Font

Guys,

I have a font that needs to be bolded in order to match previous logo designs. The font is Eras Light ITC. I need to bold it but within Illustrator CS2 I can't do this. Eras Medium is too bold. How do I fix this problem?

Have you tried to:

1. stroke the font with a thin stroke?

or

2. use Effect>Path>Offset Path with a small offset amount?

Have you tried ITC Ersa Book? That's heavier than light but thinner than medium.

Using OSX 10.3.9 on a G4
