We are using SQL Server 2000 with Windows 2000 Server and using Win NT authentication. We back up our databases to another server using a mapped network drive. We have now changed our NT administrator password and since have not been able to backup across the mapped network drive in SQL.The backup fails with user/password incorrect. Windows 2000 still maps to the drive OK.

If I try to create a new backup to the mapped network drive it brings up the following message

unable to verify the existence of the backup file location. do you want to use the backup file location anyway?

THANKS in advance for any help

Are the SQL Services set to start with the Domain\User account?

Thanks

J. Kusch

SQL Services are set to start with the local administrator.
I've now changed the password of the local Administrator to be the same as domain\administrator and it has fixed the problem.

THANKS for your help
