I am having a problem backing up a BCM 200 rls 3.6 to remote or ftp.I constantly receive "error 1222 the network is not present or not started" .also sometimes the "error 170 The requested resource is in use."
I have tried backing up straight from the Lan 2 port and also via the connected network on lan 1.
I don't have a problem backing up a 3.o BCM. Nortel said the problem was because my pc was running Novell??.
If I try via ftp the error message could not connect to the ftp verify information and try again.
I had the IT tech at the site set up the ftp server so I think that it is set up okay. I can also ping the ftp server from the bcm if I use a telnet session.
Any ideas ??

Not all FTP servers work. There seems to be some subtle differences that prevent connection. As a test, telnet into the server and go to command line. Type in "ftp x.x.x.x (ip address of server) and attempt to connect using supplied credentials. If you can login, type "?" and send a file as a test. If you can login but not send, permisssions are incorrect. If you can't login at all, the server is incompatible.

Bulletproof 2.15 works just fine. I use it constantly.

I still couldn't get the backup to go the laptop even with bulltproof. I have now copied the backup on e drive via sharing on the e drive and at least I have a copy that is not only on the BCM.
Nortel are now looking at this
Thanks
