Hi,
I'm new on the clarIIon.
We have a clarrion disk array (cx series).
We have reloacate it (with 4 HP-UX servers) two weeks ago.
This morning the disk array was innacasible.
After reebootine the server which own/mount the diskarray volumes, we found this in syslog file:

Any idea?
From where we can start.
I'm not an expert in clariion and Navisphere.
BTW: the disck array is on a remote site (about 2000 Kms).

Thank you,
Marcel

For the affected Luns, the recommended procedure is to unbind/ rebind and reload from backup.

There is a procedure to clear the dirty cache bit. However, whatever data was being processed at the time of the fault cannot be guaranteed. The procedure requires going into fcli and issuing a cld command. Newer versions of flare (rev xx.32.02 and above) let you do it from Navisphere but you still need an emc generated password to complete the process.

Thank you very much.

One question, if I'll set the cache Off (read and write) this probleme will not ocurre any more.

Regards,
Marcel

You can turn off both read and write cache but it will slow things down. Read cache can remain enabled. You won't gain anything by turning it off. It's the write cache, if enabled and not flushed to the disk, that causes the dirty cache problem.
