Somehow I cannot change any of the default (rather large) margins in any Word document. I have tried a number of things, but when I go back to see what the margins are, they do not change.

Help please.

There is no "vertical alignment" in Page Setup.

If you have a picture, maybe I can understand.

P.S. This is Word 2003

Vertical alignment is on the Layout tab of Page setup in Word 2003.

When you change the margins (in File, page Setup) are you pressing the DEFAULT button?

If the answer is YES, then have you got Adobe Acrobat 7 (full version) installed?

Word gets screwey with margins from time to time.
First of all look for your dot file, and delete it, then restart.

Word will create a new one. Then make sure that the document you are creating does not consist of a table or have a text box (right click to see if there is anh reference).

If this is not one but all of the documents, it is probably one of the many dot hiccups you get with Word.

Try File > Page Setup - what paper size is set?
