After some sort of 'event' on a 3.2.4.2 box which prevented any logins due
to an unknown problem involving passwd/auth/?, we restored tcb and authck'd
and apparently cleared up whatever was wrong.

Now however we cannot add users through sysadmsh. Any attempts produce the
following error message:

An error occured when creating user : test
[File grants more access than is allowed: /tcb/files/auth/t]
Please choose one of: Correct Retry Abort

We've tried an older version of tcb without any luck. Anyone ever seen this?

We can however edit passwd directly and then authck to fix problems and that will allow user adds but .... ???

tx in advance

Enosupt,

Does it work if you choose 'Correct'?

If it's a file permissions problem, fixmog or verify might be able to point out and/or correct the problem.

Annihilannic.

Try the command authck -av this will try to fix the tcb and also with fixmog command.

i hope this help

Thanks to both responders. Fixmog did the trick. We had tried multiple authck's with no success. Must have somehow screwed up permissions somewhere. Works fine again now.
