Can't add trunk to pool

I've got a Magix that I recently did changes to the outbound pools and wasn't thinking when I emptied a pool of it's trunks. I had this pool assigned to several analog stations the customer was using for faxes. The pool in question is still assigned to the single line extensions, which wasn't an issue till the customer complained that the owner of the company used to have outside dt first on his extension. I had forgotten I had set him up with the pool assigned to his phone also. Of course the translations show no trunks assigned to the phone, but the pool key is stuck on his phone, I've done this before and figured out that a trunk has to be assigned to the pool then the trunk has to be deleted from the line assignments to get rid of the button. Problem now is that I can't seem to add a unused trunk to the pool to delete the pool button. Any trunk I try is rejected. I know if a trunk is in use or assigned to another pool, it can't be assinged to a specific pool. Anyone know of any reason why I wouldn't be able to assign a trunk to this pool? I've even tried downloading the translations into a processor in surrogate mode to try to assign a trunk to this pool. I'm racking my brain over this and it just isn't coming to me. Any help would be appreciated.

I'll keep trying other trunks, as a temp fix, I just programmed another port for the phone. I'll try more trunks the next time I'm out there. Thanks guys
