Hi there,

one more question: I have installed SQL Server 2000 and AS (SP 4) on a new computer, and now I can't access the properties pane in the cube editor any more - which I could with the old installation.

Both, the basic and the advanced pane are visible, but only in this light gray, so I can't even change the 'All Caption' proporty.

Someone got an idea for me?

Chris

Are you on SP3 (or higher) for the client and server and for SS2000 as well as AS?

I've reinstalled SQL Server and AS, and the same problem exists without service pack, with SP 3a and SP4.

Although there must be something wrong with the installation or setup, because whenever I close AS and start it again afterwards, it is not possible to connect to the server. Error: 'no connection to registration on the server can be made, or you are no member of the group OLAP administrators'.

The strange thing is, that after rebooting the system I can connect to the server - although I can't modify any properties.

Are you a member of OLAP Administrator group?

yes, I am, I've already checked that. I've even assigned everyone to the OLAP administrators user group to make sure. What I don't understand is that whenever I reboot the system, there is no problem to connect to SQL server. However, when I close analysis services and restart it later on, I get the error message that it cannot connect to the server.

It's also, that whenever I try to delete a cube for example, that AS starts the job and then simply stops doing anything (no response). Then I reboot, connect to the server and the deleted cube actually is gone.

I don't really have any clue about where the problem my be.
